Have you ever felt like you’ve been super busy, but when you stop and think about it you realize you haven’t actually been that busy at all? (Does that even make sense?) That’s my life right now. The reason I feel busy is because I’ve been working a different shift at work for the last several weeks, so my normal daily routine has been thrown off. In other words, I haven’t actually been busy at all, my schedule has just been different. How sad.
And speaking of being busy, we’re in the process of re-painting our entire kitchen and family room area at home. Painting is THE WORST. The kitchen & family room area was the first and only part of the house my husband painted after he bought it. After I moved in, I made it my secret mission to one day re-paint that area because I hated the colors he chose. Fast forward several years and here we are. Ladies, if you complain about something enough your husband will (eventually) agree to change it. Actually, that’s bad advice. Don’t listen to me!
My husband is away this weekend for a bachelor party, so I have the house all to myself. Today is all about ME! The weather is finally showing signs of spring, so I’m planning on going for a nice, long walk at the park followed by a less-fun walk through the aisles of the grocery store. Boo.
Can we talk about Beauty & the Beast for a second? We saw it on opening weekend, and it was SO GOOD! I loved it so much. Beauty & the Beast is my all-time favorite Disney movie, and the live action remake DID NOT disappoint! Emma Watson was flawless as Belle. If you haven’t seen this movie yet please do so ASAP!
I also love Frozen. Fun fact— Frozen was the reason I wanted to go to Norway. I’m totally serious. After watching Frozen I became obsessed with fjords, so I decided that Norway was the next place I wanted to visit. I’m actually a really indecisive person, so the fact that the vacation destination I chose was based off of a Disney movie is a little odd. Okay, it’s really odd, but I’m okay with that.
Norway is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Pictures do not do it justice. Here’s another fun fact— I just read that Norway is the world’s happiest country.
We visited Norway in mid-August. We started in Bergen, traveled down the coast to Stavanger, then ended our trip in Oslo. The weather was beautiful. It rained our first day in Bergen, but every day after that was sunshine and blue skies. The temperature was in the mid-60’s, so long sleeves or a jacket were necessary for someone, like me, who is always cold.
My favorite thing that we did in Norway was hike Preikestolen, which is also known as Pulpit Rock . We went on several different hikes while in Norway, but Pulpit Rock was the most memorable one. The hike took us about two hours each way. After we reached the top we spent about an hour up there admiring the views and eating the lunch we packed. The view from the top was incredible! Again, pictures don’t do it justice. If you’re afraid of heights I do not recommend hiking Pulpit Rock.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from our trip:
